Hi everyone, I need your help!
I received my final result after 4 months and it was REFUSED for the following reasons:

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, employment, level of establishment or your future prospects and plans.

I applied for a 2 year diploma program in Social Work.

I am a Political Science graduate and proceeded to Law School but I did not finish it. After law school, I volunteered in a Civil Society Organization(until present.) I have also interned in an International NGO (focusing on Children) when I was in university.

I explained in my LOA all that saying how my internship was the driving force of being socially involved and helpinf the community. Also, I mentioned that living in a third world country learning how a developed country like Canada address their problems through their initiatives and social policies would be a great advantage for me when I go back to my country.

Here is my timeline:
Applied June 1
Reviewing eligibility around July
(no updates afterwards, was not able to do medical and bio due to covid)
Bio: September 25
Refused: Sept 28

You mentioned you live in a third world country. I am not sure about the exact words you used but that's a clear indication that you want to settle in a first world country.

You need to improve your IELTS score.

And both of you need to apply for a Master's program if you have completed your bachelors.

Hello, I did not verbatimly mentioned that in my LOA. I just said that here to emphasize where I am coming from.

Do you think so? What can you suggest that I do?
You need to be taking at least a post graduate diploma. Diploma is a low level of study which makes zero sense given the education you already have.

And yet you got rejected.
Also, you should not have applied for a VISA until you improved your IELTS score.
Hi lolcocks,

Ielts was not a requirement in non-sds, and while I do wait for the notes, i want to ask if it is required for visa? I will be re-applying soon and will try to address whats mentioned there in the notes.please clarify. Thanks

For non-SDS, IELTS is not required.

You were most likely rejected because you chose a diploma course after bachelors. Apply for a master's course.

I am a lawyer in Brazil. (Third world country)
I did not have IELTS score.
I applied for a post-graduate program (Paralegal).
And I received AIP.

So... you don’t need to apply for a Master.
Maybe your letter was not quite so good.
I said that the most important thing at this course was the network. As a lawyer, it would increase the numbers of clients that my office already has.

Ask for GCMS and try again.
Good luck.
