Just to add that when you submit your passport to the Canadian Embassy, you should (IMO) write a letter stating that you would appreciate that if the embassy expedites the processing of your visa. You could cite the reason as being that you are currently renewing your UAE visa and delays in submitting your passport to the U.A.E authorities could result in a possible fine.
