I really need help....

Hi everyone,
My name is George and im from Greece..Im in Canada the last 2 months now with an lmo contract for 2 years as a kitchen helper in a restaurant in Grande Cache.
I left my wife and my 2 kids behind and im trying to find out how and when i can bring my family here to live with me
I contract cic via the phone and the immigration office but i got no answers..
A friend of me told me that i need to get my permanent residence card first before i can bring my family to Canada.
And that i can apply for pr after 2 years..
Also the immigration office told me that if my kids are in school age then they can join me and live with me untill my lmo ends..
Im really confused right now...
Can you please give me some advices or answers ?

I think you have to be in a skilled position in order to bring your family to live with you.
