Hi everyone,

I am an international student who has recently graduated with a bachelor degree from the University of Ottawa. I have been studying really hard for the past four years and maintained a good academic standing during school. But there was one semester, due to major depression condition worsen, I have no way to continue studying full-time (all I can think about was suicide and I even attempted). My family doctor, therefore, suggested me to quit for a semester and focus on treatments. So, regarding to my work permit application, I just got a refusal letter from the CIC saying that he/she did not satisfy my qualifications, which is continuously studying full-time for more than 8 months in Canada. Now I really don't know what to do, because I have just got a job offer and really wanna stay for mental health treatments.

A few points to mention:
1. I attached the doctor's note in the application and an explanation letter of why I was part-time for a semester.
2. The full-time status of our faculty is four courses. When I was not capable of being a full-time student in winter term, I took one course in order to stay with the student visa. In the following spring/summer term, I completed three other courses as my condition was better. So if you add up, I still completed 9 courses in that year.
3.I never got refusal before, or work when I am not allowed to.
4.My study permit expired at the end of March, so I don't know if I can stay in Canada while I am applying for restoration.

Thank you so much for any help and replies. Any guides will help me cause I am so lost and flustered right now.

You need to engage a good lawyer to represent you, I don't think reapplying is gonna make any difference as you have already provided them with all the explanations which they didn't accept.
Thank you for replying. I agreed, but I don't know where to find a good lawyer. Do you have any references? And should I leave Canada immediately?
