I am new to this whole thing. I do not have an idea of how it works.... Based in Nigeria and I intend to move with my 5 year old son as I am a single parent.

I also want to know If I need to show 12,000CAD in my account when submitting the bank statement. I am also interested in knowing how much I should budget for all these eg. medicals, police reports, IELTS, Visa fee. etc...

How do I get nominated?
Please help me unravel my mysteries. I await your response.

I am Nigerian even though i am currently based overseas. I will suggest that you go to the CIC Accra forum and ask this same question as a lot of Nigerians post comments there. Regarding your questions this is my take. What immigration program in Canada would you want to apply for? In terms of funds you can show a good bank statement of 6months and if you have real estate (properties, land etc) and you have legal documents to show they are yours then that is fine also. Other costs is one step at a time because prices change. I will suggest that in total (inclusive of bank statements) you should budget + - 5million
