Hi everyone,
I came to Canada in 2018 as international student. I couldn’t complete my studies due to lot of problems. I lost my status in 2022June. Since then have no status. I cannot go back to India as I came out to my family as Gay. I have serious threats that my family is gonna hunt me and kill me when I’m in India. Only my parents are supportive but due to religious comflicts they’re forced to even support me. I have no status but can I apply for refugee. I spoke to so many lawyers and they ask me 20-25k Everytime. Any cheap lawyers who could help me. Please please.

Google legal aid in your location. Legal aid is not available for asylum seekers in all provinces. You also will have to go through a qualifying process. As previously said any lawyer should be charging you a very small fraction of what you have been quoted. Would also contact other private lawyers.
