Hello...

Im just curious to know...on the CIC website when I check the status of my wifes application, some things have changed and we have gotten our hopes up extremely high. When we used to check our status we would see:

Sponsorship Application Status: Decision Made. Permanent Residence Application Status: In process.
When we would click on "in process", all it would say is medicals received. NOW, as of last week, when we click on in progress, this is what it says:

We received ****** ********'s application for permanent residence on May 22, 2012.

We started processing ****** ********'s application on October 20, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

Doesw this mean that we are indeed CLOSE to being approved?..or could we be stuck in this state for a long time still??

Yes, you are being very close to getting your COPR and also be ready to pack your bags...Good luck

i have same thing adrian , after my husband had interview the permanetn statment chaneg in Process, i didnt hear anything yet from Visa office even they told him that he passed the interview and they will let us know but i dont know how long to wait more

when you click on "in process", does it say the same thing? does it show the date they began processing your application??

this is what i have from October 19 , i dont know anything else, what is this , even they said that we passed the interview, i dont know how long we have to wait

This means that on October 20, 2012 the IO in charge of your wife's application opened it and started processing it... meaning now they do all the work on your wife application, checking the medicals over, doing their background check, and evaluating the evidence that was included to determine if your relationship is bona fide... how long this takes depends on many factors, how fast the IO works, how good the evidence is, if they need to request anything further from you, if you need an interview... but yes this is the last step before DM it's just that no one can say how fast this happens as each case and IO are different and even tho you feel it was a straight forward case doesn't mean the IO will think it is.... myhusband had the interveiw, on ocotber 18 , and gfrom that time is saying that it is in process , they had his application in Vienna from Feb 9 2012 , and now after the interview the status change in process

check to see what the estimated or average time frame is for your VO. You can't rely on ecas - they're not that up to date most of the time! But it will say in process for awhile, and it might not even change that quickly, once they approve everything (at least ours didnT)...you will drive yourself crazy if you keep checking ecas! They will email both of you when they are ready to issue the visa and ask for a passport. If they've got all your docs and they aren't asking you to redo anything or asking for additional documents, you should be good to go. from my experience, the medicals are usually the last thing they check off, so it's a good sign that they've done that. you should theoretically be pretty close to completion! =)

I want to share my experience with you, my application was in "Application Received" for the longest time until September 19th 2012. ECAS changed "In Process". On October 8th 2012 requested from Singapore VO to re-medical, police clearance & submitting Passport.

Current status on ECAS still showing "In Process" you will be ask to submitting your Passport very soon.

As I said before yes you are close to the end but how far from the end no one knows except the officer working on your case... if the officer is a slow worker it could take awhile to get anything... my case went into process Sept 14th and the same day I got request for RPRF so obviously I had a fast IO. what visa office are you going thru?

I was just wondering what the processing time for your VO was... CIC is listing 14 months processing time so that would have started in May when they transferred your application there. They opened your file October 20th, which in it self is kinda weird as the 20th of October was a Saturday... anyways it has only been 15 days since the file was opened they need time to run their background checks, yes you send in police certificates but they still run their own. they also must go thru and analyze all the evidence that you included many things can hold this process up... as I said before, a slow processing officer, the amount they have to go thru, how long have you been in your relationship? did you apply married or common-law? shorter relationships will go thru more proving that the relationship is bona fide common-law applications have to prove a complete year of living together etc... so to answer your original question again....

You can technically be stuck in that state for 14 months... tho you will most likely not be... all you can do is wait because everyone's case is different, every IO works at a different pace, each IO is different as far as how much they need to be convinced the relationship is bona fide, some IO's use e-mail while others use snail mail so that can hold up things as well... anyways Good Luck!
