You said you have applied for CSQ, does that mean you are legally authorized to work for any employer in Quebec?

You would either need an open work permit or a PR to do that.

My employer usually has quite a few vacancies but they are mostly very specialized and do not qualify as general IT. If so, pm me and i can send you details.

God forbid your boss hires a Canadian!

They actually would (and try really hard to and in fact we do hire a lot of Canadians as well) only if qualified Canadians exist for those roles. As they say it is not a single boss (it is a pretty medium scale - to be IPOed company) so different teams, technical managers and senior engineers who interview decide who to hire. Often client interview from the US is part of the recruitment process. I am also one of them so i witness first hand the lot of people we run into.

I would be happy to refer job posts on company website with detailed descriptions. I have been seeing them for almost 2 years now - some get filled, newer ones get added.

I would be even willing to refer a candidate (send me resume) if his skill set matches even some of the requirements.

That would tell you the roar of tfw is not entirely because of foreigners, in my time here so far, the IT work force here is quite lagging behind in some ways. True - part of the reason is that many qualified Canadians go to US too - but again the smart ones should take the ones left here. Seems like that is not entirely the case. Hell .. some of the positions require skills that are not even abundant in the US.

With the current position i am on, i probably get an unsolicited job invite from a company / recruiter / Manager close to the experience i have - probably every two weeks via linkedin or otherwise. Many of them simply can't go for work permit cum LMO thing. That really tells a lot about existing Canadian skill set - doesn't it?
