Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I completed a 2 year course at a College inB.C. and graduated in June of this year. I had an off-campus work permit and when I went online to apply for my PGWP I read somewhere that if you have a current work permit you should not apply for a renewal until 60 days before it expired so I applied for my PGWP in September 2013. I have just received a letter saying it has been refused as I applied outside of the 120 days and that I must leave Canada when my study permit expires on November 30, 2013. Has this ever happen to anyone before? How can I go about appealing this decision? I'm really really worried as I worked hard at school and my goal was to graduate and gain work experience in Canada. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Better talk to an immigration lawyer there. I think it is always better to request than to appeal, when the fault is on our side.

When u applied for pgwp.. Did u mention about the deal of not applying earlier and in september instead? Did u explain the ocwp thing like u did to us.?

Or u simply applied with no statement of explanation attached?

Hello
I am not sure where you read the 60 day before expiry rule so would not comment on that. However as per CIC rules, whether or not you have an off campus work permit you must apply for your PGWP within 90 days of graduation to get approved.
In your case although you have a valid status in canada and an off campus work permit to work, you passed the 90 days deadline and hence refused.

Try talk to an immigration lawyer....if the 60 day rule actually exists in the CIC books then they can definitely help you.

Good u r taking help of imm lawyers.. thats the best way as per the situation..

can u post a link for the 60 day deadline rule ?
Somewhere official where u got to know this ?
