Hi,
Just because your wife was denied the first time doesn't mean she'll get denied again!-I was in the same situation too years back going through Nairobi as well and was approved for a visa at my second attempt ;)-I also used my daughter as the reason for the travel so she could meet her dad!-So don't lose hope yet, have faith and everything will work out one way or another!-Is your wife Kenyan?which province do you live?
[/quoteI am in B.C.]

Ecas is electronic case tracking system. It's how you check the status of your application online on CIC's website.

Have you gotten sponsor approval yet? People on the forum will say there's a slightly better chance to get the TRV with sponsor approval.

The catch with the TRV is the person must prove they will leave at the end of their stay. Your wife also a PR application in process, so they know she intents to reside in Canada permanently. It's a Catch-22 and really sucks for a lot of people. (If you're wondering, it is this way because of fraud. While I understand CIC has made tough rules to try to prevent fraud, I really hate being punished for other people's foul deeds!) (In fact, most rules, especially ones that seem silly or weird are because of fraud... it's sad but true.)

I hope your MP will help. It would be so sad to be away from your daughter and wife for that long.

Have you order your case notes for the refusal on the Visitor's visa? They will be free to you in Canada with written consent from your wife and can give you insight into what the VO saw and thought about your application. Your wife's refusal letter was generic - they just tick boxes. The case notes will (usually) be more detailed, sometimes very "enlightening."

Read this thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/latest-caips-gcms-notes-forms-and-how-to-order-t99210.0.html

(I thought it was free, but this thread says $5. Either way, it may help - might be worth a shot.)

I think it is free if the person requesting(applicant) is in Canada.

I submitted my application in January 2013 and that's all it says for me. Some people still have "Application Received" on ecas even after they get the COPR. Ecas isn't the most reliable tool in the world... (I probably should've mentioned this the first time.)

It's the thing you really really REALLY want to get in the mail quickly. ;)
