But I'm trying not to, trying to find someone with a credit card so I can pay for a visa extension. They jacked up the price to 100! We can hardly afford food right now. :(

Ok, my question is...the last ferry is at 5 pm, if I don't leave by then, am I an illegal immigrant? My visa expires tomorrow but it does not say what time. How much time do I have to get in an application??
 
What visa are you on.

usually u have 90 days from expiry date to reapply. Grace period
is this over too?
 
I am allowed to reapply. I have a visitor record, it's a visitor extension I need to apply for so I guess it's a visitor visa I need?

The visa extension must be received by CIC before your status in Canada expires. So it would have to be received by CIC today before the end of the business day.
 
A friend of mine in the states I've known for 10 years helped me out with the app, so I hope it will be ok, since my visitor visa expires today. Anyone know if it will be alright, implied status perhaps or should I ask Cic?

Thank you ^ I actually sent it via online and I called cic, got right through without waiting haha. They told me I am fine :) She said "You can send in your money to get an application even the same day as expiration" So awesome, I had no idea, so right now I have implied visitor stay. Let's hope they actually let me stay for 6 months, lol. My reason I put down is "So my husband and I can save money so I can get a worker's permit"
