Hello - I work Full-Time in an international firm and I am using the NOC for this full time job.

Back in February I incorporated a side business in a different industry with 2 other co-founders in a three way partnership. Not sure if it will help at all since it was incorporated less than 1 year ago now.

Should I and if so, how should I include it in my Express Profile? Just add another job and try to find the closest NOC to it?

Please advise

It never hurts to add it to your profile, as long as you have paid your taxes and everything. In fact I encourage you to do it, it shows you are contributing to the economy as a part timer as well. But remember you can not gain any more points for it, since it's a young business.

Also under CEC category you are supposed to gain Canadian Experience, meaning working for a settled legit Canadian business rather than your own incorporated business.

Best of luck,

Note that if you are on a closed work permit, you are not allowed to work for any other company including your own business. If you are only a share holder, that's OK but you cannot actively work. If you are on an open work permit, this is permitted.

Note that this is considered self-employment, and is specifically excluded from qualifying Canadian experience. You can/should leave it off your EOI profile, but later, if you get an ITA, you will need to include it in your complete employment history...

Hello & thanks for your reply. I work full-time as well and am on an open work permit. Do you think it would reflect badly in my case as well? The partnership I have is a side part/time business.

As long as you are on an open work permit, there is nothing wrong with doing this. So no, it won't reflect badly. But if you include it in your profile, you will have to provide documents for it, even though you won't earn any points for it.

Which of course you can do if you want. But it is not necessary.

Thank you I appreciate the response! I will omit from Profile and include it in my application once I receive my ITA
