Hi. I have a valid PGWP with a validity duration of 3 yrs. I received the approval email on May 15, 2024. I had to leave Canada in a hurry on 20th May 2024 as my mom passed away on May 19, 2024 in Bangladesh. Right now I don't have a valid visa to return to Canada. I don't even have the physical copy of my PGWP as it arrived after I left for Bangladesh.

My study visa expired on March 31, 2024. I have a valid study permit until July 31, 2024 which I got by extention.

I need to apply for a TRV outside of Canada. But I am facing some problems during the application process. I am in Bangladesh right now. When I choose my country of residence as Bangladesh, it is showing I am only eligible for a PGWP. Do I need to apply for another PGWP from Bangladesh and then submit my passport for a work visa?

Can I choose country of residence as "Canada" since I have a PGWP and I have ties there like an apt lease. When I choose Canada it then passes me for a worker visa application.

Your advice would be highly appreciated. If I take too long to return to Canada, my current job might be at risk.

Sorry for your loss.

Are you sure you are using the right application? This is where you should begin.

- You might need a copy of your PGWP.
- No, you can't choose Canada as you are currently not in Canada.
