Hi,

I have just completed my study in Canada and working on PGWP.

I have completed 3 months, and now my employer can give me full time permanent job offer letter. Can I apply for FSW if I have not 1 year full time work exp.

My point is around 74.

I am quoting words from cic.gc.ca

For your application to be eligible for processing, you must:

have a valid offer of arranged employment, OR
have one year of continuous full-time paid work experience in at least one of the occupations listed here * OR
be an international student enrolled in a PhD program in Canada (or graduated from a Canadian PhD program within the past 12 months) and meet certain criteria.

If you apply with a job offer, as long as the job is skill level 0, A or B, then you can apply as FSW Category 2. You do not need 1 year's continuous full-time employment as long as you still get 74+ points, which is fairly easy since a job offer grants 10 points plus another 5 in adaptability.

There is a possibility the points matrix may change on 1st July 2012. You have 2 choices in this case. You can try to get your application in before 1st July whilst you know you still qualify, or wait until 1st July then apply, since you will probably get a faster turnaround on your application if you are in the very latest batch (just the way it seems to work).

Please be advised though, that your full permanent offer letter must either be approved by HRDSC (in other words an arranged employment offer) or you must be working under a TWP (temporary work permit) supported by a HRDSC approved LMO (labour market opinion).

Without the AOE or the TWP, they will not accept your application. I assume you already have a TWP if you have been working for 3 months?

Wayne.

Your application requires one year continuous working experience. So, if you worry that you may not be able to apply for another level, then just stick to their requirements. If you will follow that, there will be no problems.

Thanks Wayne,

I do have TWP, but it is open work permit. (post graduate work permit), So My job do not require LMO.

Yes my job is in skill category B, and wages is also competitive.

Perhaps someone with direct experience of FSW2 can comment, but I believe if you have a TWP and you are working in Canada full-time in skill level 0, A or B that you will be eligible to apply for PR under FSW2.

Best of luck,
Wayne.
