Well, during my initial landing back in 2010, I got the SIN card and applied for the PR card which was recieved later on by my cousine in Brampton. Also, I opened an account with TD bank and deposited my landing fund there. A secured credit card was issued to me.
I was there for 2 weeks and enjoyed my time pretty well.
Now, I have a job and some saving to settle down.
I guess the Canadian dream is coming true now..
Good luck.

Well, the first important thing I did was to get a local canadian phone number ( I used VBuzzer for that).
Then, I did extensive research using google about the canadian job martket and what are the skills needed in my area of work.
I used workopolis, ca indeed and many other websites that came up in google search.
I modified my resume based on the Canadian style (there are numerious examples you can get using google).
It took me around 1 year to get the right kind of job.
The initial rejections were really disappointing, but believe me, you can learn a lot even from a failed interview.
At least you will know what kind of questions are asked.
Generally, there are 2-3 rounds of interview. The most important thing is to let them know what you have done and what you can do. If you fit the job requirement, you will have a good chance of getting hired.
Also, do a thorough research about the company your are applying for and the position/project they are hiring for.
It gives a good impression to the interviewer. Also, you should explain in details about your work and skills.
Wish you good luck.

I thought you got the offer to help you to apply for FSW but its obvious now that you got your PR in 2010

Thank you for your explanation above which is very helpful in all cases.

Look on JobBank for job descriptions - it will give you ranges for different regions.
