I have experience in more than 1 NOC, will I get experience points for all?

Hello Seniors,
I have a question regarding claiming points for work experience.

I have the following work experience:

- 1 year and 10 months as a Radio System Engineer, which falls under NOC 2147, Skill Type A
- 2 years and 6 months as a Fire Alarm System Design Engineer (Electronics), which falls under NOC 2133, Skill Type A

All within the past 10 years (as required by CIC)

The question is, can I claim points for total work experience (4 years and 4 months) or will CIC consider the work experience for only 1 NOC?

FYI, I have a bachelor degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, so my academic background is suitable for both occupations.

You will only get experience points for the NOC are you applying for...

Hi mabmabs, thanks for your reply.

What raised my doubt is this sentence in the FSW application guide in CIC webiste:

"In order to receive points for all of the jobs you have had over the past ten years, your work experience must be in one or more occupations listed in Skill Type 0, Skill Level A or B of NOC 2011"


Doesn't this mean that I can claim points for all my work experience even if it was in one or more occupations?

i had the same question and i find out that there is no need to have the experience in the same NOC to get all points



You will need at least one year of continuous full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience in an eligible occupation in the last 10 years (see below). Full time work is considered to be 37.5 hours per week of work.

However, you can also count any other work experience in the last 10 years if it falls within the National Occupation Category “A” “B” or “O” list
