I have applyed for 1.5 year.how long i still have to wait?

I have received a latter one and a half year ago, and the latter says that i would not receive anything untill 24-30 month. do i have to wait that long time?is there any way for me to go to canada to work before i get the immigration visa?
 
and one more question, can i work in canada before i have got immigration visa!namely i work in canada while waiting for my permite.

You can not work in Canada without a work permit. You could try to get a job offer and temporary work permit while you wait.
