I have a work permit, but I need to apply for a visitor visa outside of Canada

Hello All,
I recently graduated as a Masters student from Montreal, Canada and just acquired a 3 year work permit. I have to go to my home country immediately and I don't have time to apply for a visitor visa (My student visa expires on August 30, 2014). I just wanted to confirm whether it is okay to apply for a visitor visa based on a work permit from outside of Canada? Because I have never heard of such a case before

1. It is your only choice, as you say you don't have sufficient time to apply for TRV in Canada.
2. I suggest you apply on line now, assuming you will be in Pakistan when you leave, as the processing time in Isbad is 46 days.
