Apply Work Permit Outside Of Canada While In Canada ?

Hello

I am from Indonesia and a citizen of Indonesia, my parents, my brother & sister are all Permanent Resident of Canada. I was a permanent resident of Canada and my permanent resident expired while outside of Canada, I applied for a PRTD and it was refused because i did not meet the residency obligation requirement, so my only option was to renounce my permanent resident then i applied for a Visitor visa and it was approved, now I am in Canada as a Visitor, I applied a work permit within Canada but it was refused the officer said I am not a person thats eligible to apply a work permit within Canada. ( I have to apply from outside of Canada)

so my question is, if its okay for me to apply a open work permit by mail outside of Canada at the VAC the one in Indonesia without leaving Canada ?

or anyone has suggestions for what I should do ?

That's not how it works. Your family being PRs, does absolutely nothing in terms of you qualifying for a work permit.

In order to be hired at your dad's company (or any Canadian employer), he would first need to go through the LMIA process, pay a processing fee, and advertise the job for several months to prove no Canadian can be hired for the role. IRCC would then have to approve the need for a foreign worker. Unless the job is a skilled one no other Canadian could be found for and you have education/experience that would match it, and by the fact the employer is your relative, I imagine there's a very high chance the LMIA would be rejected. If this is the case, you would be unable to qualify for a work permit.

As said above, your family being in Canada does not in any way entitle you to apply for a work permit.

If you are trying to find a way to immigrate, your best bet is to apply for school here. If you complete a qualifying program that is at least 2 years long, you can then get a 3 year PGWP. This will give you the chance to gain skilled work experience and qualify to immigrate.

As others have said in order to apply for a work permit, you must first have a approved LMIA and there is not guarantee it will be approved even after applying for it.

Unless you have enough job experience and education, you can apply to immigrate through Express Entry or you can try to immigrate here as a international student and then get the job experience that you need to apply for PR.

Yes that is what i am trying to do, to find a way to immigrate. As of now I am in Canada as Visitor, I renounced my PR while it was expired outside of Canada. I was planning on applying for a study permit, then i relised i need to have certain amount of money, in this case thats my only problem I need proof of funding at least $10,000.

You would actually need somewhere around $25000 for a study permit.

Since you don't qualify for an OWP, probably can't get LMIA, and sounds like it may not be possible to pursue studies in Canada if you don't have necessary funds or couldn't afford international student fees... then really your only option is to just apply to extend your visitor status closer to when it will expire.

This is a temporary solution though, and eventually when you can no longer stay as visitor you'll need to return to your home country. You need to research Express Entry or PNP programs and how you can qualify if you want to find a way to get PR status again.
