I was wondering if anyone ever applied in person for permanent resident status before? I am about 5 hours from the Buffalo office and was wondering if it could be worth my while to travel there and give them all my paper work to see if they could process it the same day. I heard about this a few months ago but never checked on it because I was talking to a lawyer then which didn't really give me good advice or I would have know way a head of time that I needed my medical and FBI clearance before I sent in my application. I was going to have the lawyer appeal the whole exclusion order because I didn't do anything wrong they just believed I was planning on living in Canada. This whole process is killing my family since I can't be with my family right now. So I am praying someone did theres in person.

The permanent resident application must be sent to Mississauga - not Buffalo. Mississauga reviews the file first to determine if the sponsor is qualified. Once the sponsor is approved, Mississauga then sends the file to Buffalo. So the answer to your question is no since Buffalo is the wrong office. And if you try to send or drop off your file there, it will just be returned.

Just to add - there is also no way the permanent resident application can be processed in one day. It's several months at a minimum.

Temporary resident visas (i.e. tourist visas) can sometimes be processed same day. This doesn't apply to PR applications.

Also I was wondering about how much the medical was since I may have to do the medical in the states since I can't be back home until I am approved to go to Canada. Unless I can do it after I am able to return to Canada not sure if they will make any exceptions being how we really need this done asap so I can be back with my child and husband :(
From what I've seen, the medical can be anywhere from about $175 to $500. It depends on the doctor and the location. There's no problem doing the medical in the US rather than Canada. Just make sure you use one of the doctors on the DMP list (designated medical professionals).

I am also wondering if there are any other steps I am missing that could speed up my whole process.
If you want to make sure the process goes as quickly as possible, make sure all of your forms are complete when you submit the application - and include all of the additional information and supporting documentation required. Also - pay all of the fees up front (including the right of permanent residence fee).

Otherwise there's nothing you can do to speed up the process. Hope this helps.

Hi
Its me again I have a bigger problem now I haven't sent out my paper work yet because I was waiting on a few things to get done first and now I have been kicked out of the place I was staying so I am homeless. I have no idea what to do because my husband and our home is in Canada and with the exclusion order I can't return do anyone have any idea's on what the heck I should do? I am having my husband call immigration tomorrow but I thought maybe I could get some input here on my steps I should do so I can get things moving faster because I can't live in a hotel until July the cost alone would kill us please help anyone.

There is nothing CIC Canada will do for you! Even when you homeless in the states.
You have to find a other place in the states and wait your time out, maybe you can go back to your parents, family, friends or a shelter.
You just have to sit out your processing time, so get your papers together and apply.
The rest is yours unfortunately. It sounds hard, but it is the only way.
