Hi everyone,

Just wanted to ask you how to answer questions regarding my common-law partner who is Canadian citizen.

For the question:how many family members, including you, are in this application, I answered "2" including myself and my common-law partner.

Now I am little confused with the following section:

Generic application form - Dependant(s) - Question 11) will accompany principal applicant to Canada

Now I have answered
a) No
b) Reason why dependant is non-accompanying g: Currently residing in Canada as Canadian Citizen
c) Dependant Type: (I left it as blank)

Can anyone confirm if I answered it right please? Thank you,

Someone kindly sent me a private message to share her experience on this issue. but I would like to hear more opinions.. Please share your thought if you have/had the same situations...

Thanks,
Karen

The correct answer is 1.

Your spouse is not part of the application because he/she has Canadian citizenship.

I second that. you dont have to metion people on Main appliaction if they are already Canadian citizen. I have my daughter born in Canada and I didn't include her in my PR main application form as she is a canadian citizen by birth.

you can add your commom lae partner just in the Family information form

Thanks...!!! very helpful :)
