Today I received an email from CIC and it says that they received my sponsorship application for permanent residency. We sent our application 5 weeks ago but we never received any answer until today. What does this email means? Does it mean that my application is completed or it means that they will look into it to see if it is?

Means you submitted an application to CIC and they have accepted it. It's complete enough for them to start working on it. Sit back and relax now (because it's a long road)..

Sounds like it is your AOR - receipt that they have received your app.

They may request additonal information. There are forums that give brief descriptions of what to expect once your application has been submitted. It's the same information from the package. Try a forum based on the month and year that you applied or the country that you are sponsoring or being sponsored from.
