I understand your frustration, but there is silver lining for you in this. You have applied for Masters, there's a chance that your visa will be approved eventually. I have also noticed a trend where they are accepting Masters and PhD students but refusing others. I am still baffled why they refused OP with Bachelors degree in University. I am pretty sure that they are just clearing backlogs for next batch. Students re-apply regardless of refusals, that's why Abu Dhabi VO is not too worried about losing students. Many have Winter / Fall 2021 session already in place.

I personally have not used any of the sites mentioned here, but students have ordered from them.
Are you sure that they have changed their letter format from "Approval in Principle" to "Moved on to the next stage"?Different processing offices, different format. But I think now that IRCC had time to sort out processing issues and the format, they have updated letters from Approval in Principle to "Moved on to the next stage" which still gives them to option to refuse an application. Because AIP means that they can't refuse you on the grounds of eligibility. Applications are distributed across different offices meant, a person sitting in Edmonton can't actually verify the eligibility AND admissibility of a student living Pakistan or India. Similarly few applications were routed to Ho Chi Minh or Beijing, they cant make a decision for other countries students based on the documents provided, since they haven't dealt them in the past. That may have been the reason that IRCC has updated processing and letter to just send out "Moved on to next stage" and let the actual Visa office dealing the country finalize the application. A lot of VACs are now operational around the world so they have the option to assign the applications back to the Visa Office for processing.
Seems like, CPC Edmonton/Ottawa are just checking basic eligibility, for example, all documents are uploaded and available, nothing is expired or out of line, student met SDS or Non-SDS category requirement etc.. proposed study plan in-line with past study and or experience etc.. Based on this, they may just add internal notes for the actual Visa officers to look at when reassigned to them.
----
All of these thoughts are my personal understanding of the process, there's a complete 100% chance that I may be wrong about these. Do not take my words as the words of IRCC. It's just my experience and understanding on the visa process after dealing it for different applications for number of years now.
I guess this the one he’s referring to cause IRCC didn’t issue any letter stating explicitly ‘Approval in principle’.Are you sure that they have changed their letter format from "Approval in Principle" to "Moved on to the next stage"?
I think you are referring to an applicant from Bangladesh who raised a webform and received a message "your application is now Approved in principle" and weeks later he got the same letter which states "moved/advanced on to the next stage"

Sorry, but I will also have to disagree. I kind of got refused for having travel history, including Canada. Not having a travel history can weaken the application. this is some bs but given the track record of most south asian countries, people who leave dont usually come back.
sorry for that. Refusal after AIP and are from Pakistani?Sorry, but I will also have to disagree. I kind of got refused for having travel history, including Canada.
How much time it took to get the GCMS notesIt is so sad to hear such cases. Rejecting after issuing AIP on the grounds of eligibility is so wrong. I believe there is a clear catch in the phrasing of AIP. AIP states "Based on this preliminary eligibility assessment, your application has advanced to the next stage of processing." Notice they said "preliminary eligibility assessment". Looks like they review for eligibility in second stage too. IRCC played us really well.
I would suggest everyone (even people who have gotten AIP) to order GCMS notes. Only then you will be able to know what's really happening with your application. For example, GCMS notes for my application states:
ASSESSMENT
Eligibility: Passed
Security:
HIRV:
Criminality: In Progress
Org Crime:
Medical: Sent
Misrep:
Other Req:
Info Sharing: In Progress
Final:
Counterfoil Req: Yes

For me, it was exactly 14 days.In how much time you received GCMS?
It took me around 15 days. I used this website - https://www.thegcmsonline.com/How much time it took to get the GCMS notes
I've already ordered for my family member. The problem is, I last time ordered on 19th Aug and received GCMS file an hour before AIP email. They were generated on Aug 25th though. Only Criminality has Passed in that.It is so sad to hear such cases. Rejecting after issuing AIP on the grounds of eligibility is so wrong. I believe there is a clear catch in the phrasing of AIP.
