Hi Auone,
I just printed the information CIC provided on the check list and gave it to TD bank, they did the rest...

That´s what it was on my check list information box.... as you can see, does not say anything about T4

you must provide an official letter issued by your financial institution indicating your financial profile.

Your financial profile includes a listing of all your bank (chequing and savings) and investment accounts. The official letter must be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution and must include your name, the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and e-mail address), the account numbers, dates of when each account was opened and the balance of each account over the previous 6 months.

You must scan all proof of funds documents and save them as one file.

Thanks for the reply. Are you currently working in Canada? An applicant on another thread said that his CIC checklist shows that for people who are working in Canada, a T4 slip showing annual income can also be used for proof of funds.

No the point of the program is to safeguard Canadian jobs, that's why LMIAs get such an advantage, because they can only really be obtained if there is a genuine need for a foreign worker, when a company can't find a suitable Canadian or Permanent Resident.

If that cook is a specialist in a particular cuisine and the restaurant cannot find a Canadian to fill the role then that's a prime example for an LMIA to support a PR application.

However just because an EE candidate is very skilled in their profession, if there are plenty of Canadians who could do that job, an employer can't get an LMIA and the foreigner sits at the back of the queue, since there is no need for them while there are qualified Canadians.
So what happens to people like us who spent so much getting a Canadian education and then PGWP?

I am in the same boat but I wouldn't blame Canadian government for this new rule. I think you would agree with me that our intentions before applying for initial student visa was to get PR, however that was not what we mentioned in our student visa application otherwise CIC would have rejected our visa there and then.

I suggest instead of blaming the system we should flow along the stream and apply for PNP or ask our employer to get a LMIA to gain more points in EE.

Remember, I also came as a student, got a PGWP, gained 1+ experience in NOCA, have permanent job offer but still waiting to be picked in EE system.

Stay positive mate :)

Agreed, but it sucks. Does anyone has a count of how many people are there with a pnp or LMIA? How long before us lesser fortunate people start getting ITA?

It's hard to figure out the count. We will come to know "how many" in next draw :D

Guys...

I got ITA, my score is 965. (600 points are coming from LMIA which already got expired in feb 2015. I am in canada for one year contract which is ending in september 2015)

I have few questions:

1. Since my LMIA got expired, does that mean they will reduce my 600 points which will lead to the rejection?

2. Also, is it necessary to have a permanent job offer in order to earn 600 LMIA points? Since I am on 1 year contract, I am afraid they may not consider my LMIA.

3. When I start applying for PR, it asks about the fees in the beginning, weather I want to pay only one type of fees or both, what should I choose?

4. Will I need to show any funds in my Canadian bank account? If yes, how much minimum?

Thanks,

Rohit

(1) If LMIA is expired, it's no longer considered 'valid'. Sorry.....
(2) To get 600 points you need another LMIA or PNP
(3) You can choose one or both fees. If your PR is requested, the second fee ($490) is refunded.
(4) Min required fees depends on size of family. It's approx $11k or one and $15k for two. Exact figures are on CIC website.

Hi All,

I have received ITA on March 27, 2015 and I have been trying to access to my application.

I am able to log in to my cic, but as soon as I click on my permanent residency application, it gives me an error says:

Sorry
This on-line service is currently not available.
Possible reasons::
1. We are currently updating this Web site.
2. We are experiencing technical difficulties.
Please try again later.

I tried different browsers with the latest version and also different computers but still the issue is here.
Do you have access to your application? any idea how to solve the issue?

many thanks in advanced.
