I got AOR Jan 25, 2017, work permit expires Sept '18 - what do I do?

I got an AOR more than a year ago. I am not clear if I should work on a work permit extension while still waiting on CSQ? I was under the impression CSQ took faster, from both research and my lawyers. Is this something to be concerned about?

Yes You will need to find some backup if you do not get your CSQ by the time your Work permit expires, I am also in similar situation, My wp is expiring next month and I havent received my CSQ yet, I will wait until end of this month and then will apply for Facilitated Lmia.

In the event that I get CSQ, can I switch employers? My current employer does not seem very reliable and this would give me some peace of mind...

What is your current status ? I mean Open work permit or closed ?

Well even after your CSQ you will get closed work permit, your employer needs to help you from employer portal to get your closed work permit.

the only way you change your job is, if interview with some other company and they agreed to help you get your closed work permit.
