Hi guys,

I just created my EE profil and got only a 377! I was expecting +400. I have 1 daughter, my wife is with me but with no ECA, no IELTS...

CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY : Master's degree
IELTS : Listening - 6.0 / Reading - 7.5 / Writing - 6.0 / Speaking - 7.0 / Overall - 6.5
TEF Canada for French : CE 227/300 - B2 / CO 307/360 - C1 / EE 413/450 - C1 / EO 383/450 - C1

Could you please have a look and tell me what are my options? How can I improve my score and get more than 400?

The company that I work for has an office in Canada and I have already worked for them but never traveled there (remote work) - I don't think this can considered as Canadian Work Experience but I would like to confirm.

Please give me some advices...

CRS - Human Capital - Age 90
CRS - Human Capital - Level of Education 126
CRS - Human Capital - First Official Language Proficiency 90
CRS - Human Capital - Second Official Language Proficiency 21
CRS - Human Capital - Canadian Work Experience 0
CRS - Spouse - Level of Education 0
CRS - Spouse - First Official Language Proficiency 0
CRS - Spouse - Canadian Work Experience 0
CRS - Skill Transferability - Education 25
CRS - Skill Transferability - Foreign Work Experience 25
CRS - Skill Transferability - Certificate of Qualification 0
CRS - Arranged Employment 0
CRS - Provincial/Territorial Nomination 0

Thanks,
Casadog

Quickest way to push your score to 450+ is to retake IELTS and score at least 8 in Listening and 7 in the other 3 sections.

You will get a boost of points in Skills Transferability and First official language proficiency.

All the best!

Thanks for ur reply.

Wow. Again money and time!

What are my others options?
You can't change anything else to affect your score, at least not in the short-term. You can't change your age, your education level can't be changed in just a couple months, and you can't do anything about the work experience you have.

What you can do is practice to get better language scores. Given that you have more than one degree, you're in a position to get around 450 points. The score you have for the IELTS now wouldn't need a huge improvement.

Listening 6.0, Reading 7.5, Writing 6.0 and Speaking 7.0 aren't drastically far from L 8.0 and 7.0 for R, W & S.

You're already there for the Speaking and Reading. Just need to improve listening and writing.

Thank you! I will see if I can do that while looking also for other options.

I see a diffrence between a profil created with a spouse and without.

The number of points given for a profil without spouse is highter which make sense between if your wife does not have ECA or IETLS than you loose points.

I'm sure if I create a new EE profil without my wife on it i'll get more point. What do you think about that? Is there anyone who tried this before? Any experience to share?

I'm planning if succussful to move with my Wife and daughter. Is this a good/legal option for me to try? Can I apply for a familly visa for them after me getting Express Entry visa for myself?

Thanks,
Amine

Ok. It's still not enough. You need clb 9 to push you into the 450 range

Also get ECA & IELTS done for your wife to score higher in addition to retaking the IELTS because 390 just isn't enough.

You cannot just remove your wife. If you do that she will not get the PR. It means she is not coming to Canada with you. You will have to bring her after your immigrate.

Also, I am not sure if one can remove their spouse from application just like that.

I am very certain it will be considered a breach of terms.

If you are married when you apply, you must declare it. Otherwise they might even bar you from sponsoring your wife later.

I'm fairly sure that is how it works. But there was at least 1 another member on the forum who had a persuasive and cogent argument about non-inclusion of spouse in the PR application on the grounds that it is the spouse's choice to be included or excluded. I'm not entirely sure how that works but it definitely seems to be logical. I think it makes perfect legal sense for a spouse to NOT want PR at the same time as the Principal Applicant.

Though I would imagine one would have to provide sufficient evidences of legal separation or a self-declaration from the spouse validating this point.

Well, one can surely argue. But then the immigration dept will have all the right to deny PR to the spouse in future.
Afterall, they would not like the system to be abused through this loophole.

I completely agree with you and the others who say that it is prudent to state the truth about one's marital status.

Just that there is this counter argument which doesn't seem illogical and could be presented to CIC at one's own risk. :D

Thanks guys!

I know it is still not enough and that I need more than 400 to hope for an invitation.

I have an idea and would like to get your inputs. My first official language is French and I passed TEF Canada.

My results are :
CE / Reading 227/300 - B2 (CLB 7)
CO / Listening 307/360 - C1 (CLB 9)
EE / Writing 413/450 - C1 (CLB 10)
EO / Speaking 383/450 - C1 (CLB 9)

As you can see I need to be at CLB 9 or more on all four first official language abilities to get +50 in C. Skill transferability factors (25 Education and 25 more in Foreign work experience)

Can I pass only this exam without the others? If yes, how can I update my profil with 2 transcripts?

Thanks,

IELTS doesn't allow mix and match of scores from multiple attempts. I would expect the same from TEF as well. Couldn't find evidence on the TEF site but here is a comment from a senior member of the forum validating my assertion.
