I forgot to send a SOP for visa application

is SOP (statement of purpose) required for the student direct stream visa process? It shows as optional in the form but I just found out you need to submit it otherwise it will get rejected.
I didn’t know this when filling the form and now I have sent my Visa Application through the SDS process. What can I do now? Is there any way I can still send this SOP to them now? I am freaking out please tell me any solution.

It's the most optionally required document in visa application. What you could do is.. send a webform inquiry and send the document thru it. Explain why you missed it initially. It will be added to the file.

SOP is only necessary if you have a diversion in your career i.e. when previous studies or work experience does not align to the proposed studies in Canadian Institution. That is the part where you need to explain your decisions through a well written SOP.

Last week, at least couple applicants received SOP request from IRCC to be uploaded under GC Account. It's not required document but it is something that they expect to be uploaded, at least from some certain countries.
