i FORGOT to send a PREPAID evelope (CEC application)

Hello ladies/gents,

I have recently received en email stating that my CEC application is almost complete, and requested me to send my passport and other documents to the Canadian Consulate General in Detroit.

I have sent both my passport and other documents to Detroit, however, I DID NOT enclose PREPAID envelope , but a regular envelop with my address printed on (NOT paid). I called the CIC center to follow up on this, and they said I should send in another mail with PREPAID envelope in it to Detroit. So, I immediately sent another mail to Detroit.

I am just wondering if any of you have experienced the same, and if so, were there any issues/advice you would like to share with me? Much appreciated.

It seems you've taken steps to correct the 'error' as recommended by the call centre. So you just have to wait and hope that the visa officer uses the new envelope to return your passport.

BEST THING IS CONTACT THE CALL CENTRE, IN ORDER TO AVOID ANY FUTURE DELAYS

I see... I contacted the Canadian Consulate General in Detroit (not by caling, but by using their contact form on the website) and explained my situation. Then I got one line reply "Thank for the update." So, like you mentioned, I hope the officer waits for the new envelope to return my passport. Thanks for your reply.

How did u contact the Detroit Embassy? mine i didn't not include a prepaid return envelope. I sent my passport last october 22 and im thinking right now to send a prepaid return envelope. Do u think it is too late now? i need to contact them first, but how? Please help me.

I believe they will use the standard return envelope without any tracking number. May be Canada Post.

I wat to send my passport by courier (Ups) to Detroit on Monday ( 600 Renaissance Centre Suite 1100).
However, I am a bit confused about sendind a prepaid envelop with a canadian address (401 Quellette Avenue)
Has anyone done this? Is this correct?

I did , Im not home but if you are in Canada the return address is a PO Box number in Windsor thats the one you should put on the return envelop fold it and put it with your passport and you can track it on the post offfice site to see when it becomes active to come back to you .

But on the RETURN envelope as per cic instructions, in From section address should be:401 quellette ave, Windsor and in To section Do i need to write my address ??????

Of course you need to put your address in the "TO" section... I sent mine yesterday to detroit.

Yeah I agree with you. I will be sending mine today and that is what I have done. The information says complete the ''mailing label" .
