I changed my course from a 2 years course to a 1 year course

I got into Canada a couple of days ago, and got my study permit for a 2 year program but I already got admission in another province for a 1 year program which I’d like to move to. How do you suggest I update IRCC about my switch and does the 2 year visa affect me in anyway now that I’m opting into a 1 year program instead?

If you have not studied at the school on your permit for at least a semester or don’t intend to study at that school, then you need to apply for a new study permit to change programs and DLI.

You need a new study permit and PAL
