I can't believe it!!!!!!!!

Ok, I completed the outland application for my common law partner on the 14th of Feb., mailed it and tracked it with Canada Post- they received it on the 18th. Up to and including this morning, I couldn't find anything on e-cas, and they had told me that the wait was 64 days at this point. Then it happened.... the mail arrived this morning, and a letter from Canada Immigration saying that the application had been approved!!!!!!!! ;D
I still can't believe it- 25 days after they received it!!!!!
I hope everyone here gets this great news soooo fast!!!!!!

WAIT!!!!! you sent your application on the 14 of february, they recieved it on the 18th. then after almost a month you recieved a letter from canada immigration saying your application has been approved???? wow congratulations,

could you tell me what is your situation, are you inbound or outbound was you or your wife deported? what exaxtly did you do to make everything so smooth,

I presume it's Approval in Principal (1st stage) meaning your sponsor has been approved?

I don't know why it got processed so fast- no, my partner wasn't deported, I sponsored him outland. The letter says, "We are pleased to advise that you have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor" and later it says " The application for permanent residence has been found to meet minimum requirements for completeness under the Immigration Act, the visa office may, where necessary, request additional documents and information from your relative".It also says that it's been forwarded to the Rome visa office, and it includes the sponsorship agreement I had filled out with my app, and a list of obligations I have towards the sponsored person. How long does the next procedure take?

Yes, you have been approved as a sponsor which is the first stage of an outland application. Right now it is listed on the CIC website as taking 55 days but it always used to be around a month

That's great news! I'm glad CIC-M is processing sponsor's faster than that website states. If only all the local offices were doing that too!

Hi!

Its just a matter of time now. My wife was approved to sponsor me Jan. 22 and last Mar. 4, my visa was approved (40 days). If you have already done your medicals and have submitted your police clearance then it would be over soon. From submission to visa, it took Pretoria 69 days but in their website they said that they average around 6 months. So think positive and pray. Congrats!!!

I think a sponsorship approval taking around a month is kind of common these days? It took my husband around a month to be approved to sponsor me, and others on recent threads, as well. Now for the longer part of the waiting process, I guess....

Me and my husband was very excited when getting the letter of sponsorship approval after 3 weeks submitted the application. But now, we are upset and stressful about the 2nd stage that taking so long now. We had to wait for 3 months in queue for the interview (they sent letter require an interview in Nov, and set up the date in Feb) after being successful at the interview, I submitted FBI record as requested and wait until now, It's almost 1 month waiting after the interview

It's the SPONSORSHIP approval - now the application goes to the overseas visa office for assessment of the applicant. You've still got a long wait - probably a minimum of at least 6 months.

they recieved my application on the 17th of feb, and today i got the approval letter and said that the application is forwarded to singapore.

so now that question is.
how long does it take untill singapore start processing the application after sponsorship approval? 2 weeks? a month?

It currently says 55 days, though reports here indicate it might be shorter. The 55 days may be a mistake.

This depends where your application is being processed and some applications take longer than others.

The application for permanent resident is the longer process. This is when they do the background checks, interview, etc. If you have submitted everything completely then it will be fast. If you lack some documents, then your papers will be returned to you for completion.
