I am not sure which is the right category for this topic. I am a PR living in Canada. And have to visit family in India. Unfortunately during holidays is the only time i can travel. I live alone. I want to know what are the travel restrictions. Other than quarantine for 2 weeks. I live in Ottawa and have to take a flight from Toronto, on my way back generally I take a grey hound, i dont have anyone who can drive me back from airpot to home.
Thank you

Greyhound ill not be an option on your return. You will need to fly to Ottawa and take a cab/uber or have a friend drive you home.

my airlines is British Airways and it says on their website, the last bullet point says i cant travel beyond UK, does that mean I cant come back ? And it also says entry requirements for your destination

Outbound flights from India:
  • Stranded UK nationals/residents, foreign nationals transiting through UK or spouses of these persons, whether accompanying or otherwise.
  • Indian national holding any type of valid UK visa and destined UK only, Ireland and Cayman Islands.
  • Seamen holding Indian passports would be allowed subject to clearance from the Ministry of Shipping.
  • Please be aware that Indian Nationals can only travel from India to the UK, Ireland and Cayman Islands and not any further, unless their spouse is a foreign national or they are seaman travelling with authorised documentation.
Please check the entry requirements for your destination to ensure you can travel.

Never heard this. If this is recent it may be due to the recent issues with travel restrictions due to the covid strain that has been spreading around the UK. Although the strain has been found elsewhere many countries have closed their borders to those travelling from the UK. Normally you can travel back through the UK because you are PR. Would clarify with British Airways although things are very fluid at the moment when it comes to lockdowns. With huge increases in covid rates across many countries including Canada there may be more travel restrictions coming.

Canada has just closed their borders to UK passengers. Would check with British airways about potential change of plans although the first border closure is for 72 hours. When travelling these days you need to prepare in case you aren't able to return.
