Midwives will only offer a "free" delivery if you do a home birth with them. You are also supposed to use a midwife clinic that is in the same area that you're living. If you go to a hospital with your midwife it would be cheaper, but you would probably pay a few thousand dollars still for use of room and facilities.ashikn said:Thanks for your advice.
As we are planning to deliver our baby in Canada, and we are not eligible for OHIP, so can you pls advice is there any Midwife communicate organization that can provide us necessary service and pay all the expenses for my wife's delivery at hospital.
Some problems though with this. First, midwives in Ontario are in very high demand. So if you're already mid or late stages of pregnancy when you arrive in Canada and start looking for one, most if not all may be completely booked and you won't find any available to take you as a patient.
And second, even if you do find a midwife any complications that arise will cause them to stop caring for you and mandate a doctor take over, at full doctor costs. And the cost of procedures or long stays at a hospital can cause a medical bill to skyrocket.
