I am on a work permit that expires in October and I want to stay as a visitor?

Hi there.
So my work permit expires in October. I am from the UK and I want to extend my stay, but as a visitor while my Outland Spousal PR is being processed. I have looked at the extension forms and I am a little confused by the third question in the IMM5708 form. Do I tick either (1) Extension of temporary resident status OR (2) Initial temporary resident Permit/ extension of temp work permit.

I think it is number (1) but would that not imply that I am wishing to extend my current work permit. I want to be a visitor. Confused!

Should I be filling out different forms or do I need to fill out any forms at all as i am from a visa exempt country?

I have read the guides but I can't seem to find any defining answers.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Depends what work visa you're on. If you cant extend it (IEC work permits are not able to be extended) then you'd need to tick the first one.

Yes if you're wishing to extend your stay online you'd need to fill in some forms and copy the current stamps from your passport.

Don't forget to mention (they are asking why you're wishing to extend) that you want to stay for 6 months or more, they may or may not give you that. But you can always extend it again

Thank you. My question is i received a refusal letter yesterday about my open work permit application. They told me to pay 350 dollars to reapply. Should i have to pay for the restoration? My work permit is valid until september 11, 2013.

Thanks for the info. Ok my next question is how do I add extra employment history to the IMM5708 form?

I can only submit 1 document.

Is there any easy way around this? I could print the whole thing and then rescan it and put it back together as a word document with an extra page continuing the extra employment history I guess. Kinda seems like a very long winded process for something that should be pretty simple.

Yeah you can do that. Yeah we had trouble with a lot of our documents too. My partner did most of the filling in since electronics and me do not go hand in hand lol.
