My husband is sponsoring me, presently i am working in Bahrain. I have heard that once my papers are processed and i get my Visa the visa office will ask me to cancel my work permit of Bahrain which means i will no longer be able to stay or continue to work there before i join my husband in canada. I am trying to get a transfer of my job in their Toronto office.

Please advise me.

yes that's what happens with most of the gulf applicants...they will actually ask u first to send them proof of work visa cancellation, job resignation etc before they issue the Canadian visa...

Abu-Dhabi office is in general requesting lots of updates and extra documents during the process....hence they take long, up to 27 months...if u did not start the process yet u might also want to consider to apply through the embassy dealing with ur citizenship country (if u r able to travel there for an interview)

Thanks for the response. But my company will consider me for a transfer only after they see my PR for Canada and that too will depend on any opening which i will have to wait for a while and see. Is there anyway out. Again approximately what is the minimum and maximum time taken by the Abu Dhabi office to process the visa if all papers are in order.

Please help, its getting a bit complicated ???

Thanks

Your employer in Canada needs to obtain an approved LMIA. Once the LMIA is approved, you can apply for a work permit.

Be careful. There are a lot of job scams out there. If anyone is asking you for money in exchange for the job or offering paid accommodations / food / flights, then it's a scam.
