I am landing next month in 40 some days. Just a question.

I know I am suppose to give them a list of items I am bringing in with me to Canada. I have a laptop with movies, music, & programs I downloaded. Do they look inside of my computer and ask about my movies?

And I am also landing in Toronto. Do I apply for my SIN also there or do I do this after landing at a local immigration office in the city?

You need to provide 2 lists: Goods to Follow & Goods Accompanying. You needs two copies of each.

I don't think they will look inside your laptop, they just need to know what you are bringing into Canada.

I believe you can apply for your SIN at Toronto Airport.

The actual landing procedure itself is quick... only around 15 minutes. It's any potential lineup you need to worry about. Depending how many flights arrive at same time as yours, and how much staff they have working at that time... sometimes the lineup can be at least 2 hours just waiting. Hopefully that is not the case for you though, but just be prepared in case. Worst case if you can't make connection, the airline will put you on next available one at no cost to you.

dont forget baggage claim. they are a mess at Pearson. takes close to 20-30 mins at times to get ones bags.

CBSA has the right to search anything ( content inside laptop a well ), while they won't care much about downloaded movies- they are mostly concerned with child *censored word*ography. - http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/media/release-communique/2014/015-eng.html

You do get opportunity to apply for SIN at airport as they have section for Services Canada

I also got a hard drive 2TB with TV shows. lol

I never had a problem with bags when going there at the airport.

The only thing that is a down fall at this airport is the LONG walks when you get off the plane, to get your bags etc.

Yes, they're LONG. But I think that's why they put in "movators" or "moving sidewalks".
