I sponsor my wife so i am responsible to support my wife for three years and my wife knows very well about this matter. i don't have any idea that she fell in love with one person in Canada and now she wants to move with her new boyfriend and she has decided to give me divorce. SHE SAID TO ME THAT SHE WILL NOT TAKE MONEY FROM ME. THANK GOD THAT I HAVE NOT TO PAY ANYTHING TO MY WIFE, BUT SHE NEED DIVORCE FROM ME. so now what to do?????

right now i have no person in life but i am worried. so please help me. that if i want to marry with someone so can i marry and sponsor to her or not?? because i have one sponsorship of my wife. CANADA IMMIGRATION WILL GIVE VISA TO MY WIFE.

you can divorce her even marry with another girl (if you found quickly).

Inform your visa office about your marital status (if divorced and you don't married again than send cover letter to visa office that now that you are divorced and your wife is no longer your dependents).

if you marry with another girl than write visa office and send necessory proof of your new marriage after divorce.

you will loss points if you claim any points of your first spouse and if 2nd wife not carried those points for you.
Example: 1st wife Graduate or master degree holder so you claim her educational points and 2nd wife may be non graduate or just highschool level education than NO points OR 1st wife just school level education you not claimed any points for her education, after divorce you marry with another girl and she is graduate or master degree holder than you can claim those points).

but you have to inform visa office about your marital status (divorce or re-marriage).

Hi OMM,

He is already a PR. Why the question of loss of point?

CIC wont issue u a visa for your new 'wife' (cos u r still legally married to the first). Finalise the divorce, marry the new lady and then sponsor her....Mandie

The best place to call will be the the CIC office.

Even if your wife produces a statement that you are no longer responsible for her financial support, the deal was between you and CIC. If her new boyfriend sends an appropriate statement that he will be taking care of her from now on, maybe this will solve the problem (but I really doubt this is the established way)

Technically, you have sponsored one person and still have legal obligation about her, divorced or not. This may affect your eligibility to sponsor a second person, as your income level will now need to be higher. (you will need to prove that you will be able to provide for two wives now).

This is just my guess.

Wrong guess. The OP appears to have applied as a skilled worker. He has no obligation to his wife in Canada as he didn't sponsor her. So CIC doesn't care. He may have responsibilities in the court system, if she sues for support.

Can not understand well your situation . You are already a PR or still waiting for Visa , or you are PR and sponsoring the application of your wife ( she should be X wife bro ;) .
In each situation the is different solution if you are a PR already then who care just get divorce and go on with your life . If you are PR and sponsoring her then withdrow your sponsorship asince she do not diserve it . But the problem if you are still both waiting for CIC dicession since you might need the points she would offer and hin this case you both need each other in immigration procedure

If your wife was already listed on your PR application and got her PR at the same time as you, then you did not sponsor her and you are not tied in any sponsorship for 3 years. You can divorce her and when the divorce is finalized, you can marry again and sponsor your new spouse.

This is the correct answer. Divorce can be filed in Canada and settled here. Need not be mutual (if you can prove separation for a minimum of 12 months). Takes about a year. Once the divorce is finalized, you may remarry and sponsor your new wife.

I am not sure either that i get exactly what the problem here is as it seems you are your (ex?) wife are already landed. if your concern is about the financial obligation you made when you sponsored her, then indeed you are in trouble if she goes on welfare before the three years expiration period. The government will make you pay even if you are divorced. However, if you are both sure you are not able to sustain the marriage, then get a proper divorce and inform the relevant authorities.

I am almost certain that he did not sponsor her because if he himself landed in May 2011, that is only 3 months ago so to sponsor his wife and have her already PR in that time is almost impossible and besides, she must have been in Canada for a while to meet someone else. I believe he applied with his wife as a dependant on his application and they both got PR together in May. He thinks that means he sponsored her but it is really not the same thing.

Lolz, everyone is second guessing. The crust of his post is he has his wife on his PR application as a dependant, they both had PR and went to Canada. She met someone else (probably some old flame) and wants a divorce. She promised she's not going to claim anything. So to make this divorce a quick and painless, she promises not to claim anything from him, just divorce me quick and let me go! Ok, our guy is also lonely and wants some nice lady from home country who he can marry and bring her to Canada. The main question is WILL CIC GRANT MY NEW WIFE VISA? Answer: CIC WILL GRANT THE VISA IF YOU DIVORCE YOUR CURRENT WIFE AND SHOW PROOF OF THIS. This has been well established. The next question is DO I HAVE ANY FINANCIAL OBLIGATION TOWARDS MY SOON TO BE EX, EVEN THOUGH SHE HAS VERBALLY TOLD ME SHE DOES NOT WANT ANYTHING (if the guy is obliged give her money, that is)? The wife of course is entitled to her divorce settlement of some part (half?) of the marital assets plus she could try for alimony which she probably wont get though because she is the one who met someone else and left.
