Hi friends,

Iss there anybody in the forum or anywhere else who has submitted papers to the visa processing center without the IELTS and then later on sent the IELTS and application got accepted?

I am in a very tough situation.I need advice from all the experienced as well as inexperienced people.

Firstly,.I have recently written my IELTS and I am not expecting a decent score in the listening section. However, while submitting my initial application to CIC I mentioned that I have highest level of English in all the areas.I need highest in all the areas to have 67 points to qualify.I have to submit my application to the visa processing center in Buffalo before 20th of July. Therefore,I am not in a position to take this exam and then wait for the results as next exam date is 17th July and results would be declared around 30th July.By then it would be too late.I have to submit everything before 20th July.I cannot withdraw my application and start all over again by applying to CIC as my NOC has been dropped from the list.

Secondly,I am pursuing MBA. which will be completed on 7th august 2010 and then I can easily get more than 70 points even if I have not done well in the listening section .But I can't use MBA degree to get more points as it is not completed yet hence cannot collect extra points which MBA can easily fetch.

What do u guys suggests?

Shall I go ahead and file my papers without the IELTS ,attaching a note saying that my results are awaited.I can take it again on 17th and then submit my IELTS to buffalo around 30th

Pleas advice.

Thanks,
lapore

Hi,

Consult OP6 manual concerning documents submission after 120 day deadline.

If your additional docs is received after 120 days but before V.O. review, it will be admitted for assessment and you'll have no problems. However, if officer reviews your incomplete submission before your documents reaches, he will make a negative decision and send you a letter.

Same thing applies to your master's credential.

You can help yourself by requesting your transcipt as soon as your final grades are in and submitting to CHC.

It's a fact that Buffalo office is very slow in processing.

Thank you friends

I have another question.

Q-What should I be including in explanation to the Visa office that I have good English?what should be the length of the written English(How many pages of English).
21685, you said that u got 11 points for good English. Can u briefly let me know what you have put in your application?I am trying to figure out what really impressed visa officer in your application.

I have taken TOEFL twice in the past and I have scored highest.
I can attach my TOEFL scores ,explanation in English, retake IELTS and submit good scores. If the visa officer hasn't reviewed my application prior to receiving IELTS scores then there is a chance that my application will not be rejected.

what do u guys suggests?

Thanks,

Hi Nitin,

My suggestions are as follows (some of which is already known to you):

1. Dont' miss 120day deadline.
2. Write a cover letter to indicate your proficiency in English (Eg- If you did schooling in English medium, University records to indicate the medium of instruction, Workplace references, if you have experience working abroad and how well you were able to integrate)
3. Retake IELTS test.
4. Send the receipt of the forthcoming test with your docs to VO.
5. Also mention that your MBA course will be over by 7th Aug (My question: When are you likely to get transcripts of MBA? If you can avail it before the VO begins to assess then it will be beneficial for you, but it worth mentionng in your cover letter).

The letter does not have to be # of pages, but organize the material well in your letter honestly. This is very crucial for you since your NOC is off the hook. Add as many references to prove your understanding of the English language (no spelling mistakes in your letter at all) and check and recheck your docs before you send them.

Be very positive in your cover letter and show your ability and positive attitude to integrate and contribute to the Canadian society and economy.

Hope this helps. Good luck and take care.

Hi Nitin,

I also applied before June 26th, but did not have IELTS. I just needed 6 points from language test and assumed that with my written explanation, VO will assign at least 6 points for me.

I am thinking now to take IELTS before submitting the full documents when I get response from CIO Sydney. I think you should try your last attempt for IELTS and also explain your situation of MBA in your cover letter.

Good luck!

Seniors, please advise me, should I take IELTS right now and send the result to CIO before it review my documents or wait until I get the response from CIO and take IELTS and submit full application to the visa office.

I want to be 100 percent sure as my occupation has been dropped under this new ministerial revision!! Any advice would be highly appreciated!!

Thanks

Hi BP,

It is a good idea to write your IELTS test and send the results to VO. Remember, now that IELTS has become mandatory for candidates post 26th June, these instituitions conducting the test will be booked and if you wait for long then you might not find a date suitable for you.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mitali,

Thank you for your excellent suggestion. Would you suggest me to write IELTS and send the result to CIO or just VO. If I want to sent to CIO, then I should book and take IELTS exam soon, otherwise, I will book now and take exam by the end of July or early August. In your experience, does CIO advise me to take IELTS or is there any chance of being rejected? Under this circumstance of revised Occupation list, I do not want to take any chance of being rejected. FYI based on my written/supporting documents, I should be at least awarded 12 points (I just need 6).

Thanks,
BP

Imho, you should send your initial forms asap, later you can add the good results, just explain you are doing fine in English, and that the next test will be held a bit later and that you will send/add the test result later.
