i am canadian, wife is vietnamese, our son born in vietnam

hi everyone! hope all is well.

my wife is vietnamese and i am canadian. we have a baby boy who was born in vietnam , but we already got a canadian citizen certificate for him. he also only has a vietnamese passport at this time. my question is, when we go to canada (soon i hope) does my son need a canadian passport to enter canada or is a vietnamese passport good enough?? ( he is already a canadian citizen)

Unfortunately, it is not enough. Your son would require visa to enter Canada if son uses Vietnam passport. Airlines will not allow your son to board the plane without proper visa to enter Canada. Your son would require a Canadian Passport or Canadian travel document to be able to board the plane. My advice is to apply for canadian passport asap or Canadian travel document depending on your travel plans.
