Hello,

I have a permanent residence in Canada. I am a Japanese. I have a Japanese passport.

Questions.

Can I apply for the working holiday visa in NZ? I would like to go there for a year under working holiday visa, and come back to Canada with no any issues??

I know The PR card is good for 5 years.
In order to renew the Canadian PR Card I must live in Canada 2 years (730 days) out of 5 years (1,825 days).

But I was wondering If I can have a working holiday visa and Permanent residence in Canada at the same time.

Thank you so much for your time.

Hi,

To be eligible for the Working Holiday for a given country, you must hold a Canadian passport. Being a PR does not entitle you to participate.

See: http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/workingholiday/canadaworkingholidayscheme.htm

You could see if Japan and NZ have a similar program?

Than you for the reply.

I know that I can I apply for online under Japanese working holiday visa for New Zealand.

I just want to know that Its ok to have a visa in NZ and Permanent residence in Canada.

If I loose my permanent residence, I wont go anywhere.

You will not loose your Canadian PR provided you continue to meet the RO. You can apply for a NZ working holiday visa if you like.
