Hi yoj,
It took so long for me .I tained in India nd currently live in Europe .The council asked 4 every possible papers under the sun ....including the hours transcript/mark transcript/syllabus transcript. They asked for this papers in differnt occasions .at one time i ended up going to india to my university to get d papers ready ,bcos they asked me for this after keeping my application nearly an year under review it was very annoying....... thank god after all that effort finally i got my CRNE eligibility after 15 months i submitted d application.

As far as i know the job market is not very good for foreign nurses. From wher did u hear there is good job opportunity?

Oh! the processing time for SRNA is very long, Im worried coz I have just applied last october 2010 and I am expecting my visa by January 2011. I can't go to canada unless I have the eligibility to take CRNE so I can work as a graduate nurse. From the orientation of CIIP that I have attended, they said that it is easier to find job in smaller provinces because there are less competition there unlike in bigger city.

Well Yoj,
You will be lucky if you get d eligibility by jan 2011...im not discouraging you ,but thats d fact.
Are you sure you can secure a job with graduate licence..i tried that too .I applied in a few places but i dint get any positive reply.
In the smaller provinces the competition will be less,so as the vacancies.
Best of luck with ur registration.
My advice is start preparing for ur CRNE rather leaving it till later .Spend a little bit of time everyday in ur preparation dats goin to help you .Start with your med-surg books nd paeds/gyne/psych..u studied in your college first, then gradually move on to the MCQs.

I really do hope so Sarass. Thank you for the advice, by the way, where do you plan to stay in Canada? Is it ok to use the nclex comprehensive review book of Saunders? I think its quite similar right?

Hi,
Ya to get into d MCQ style dat really helps, but CRNE questions are entirey diff from what dey ask iin NCLEX.CRNE they will test mostly ur psychosocial skills.
I am not actually decided wer im going to settle ,stil i cant make up my mind,my hubby work in Bio medical field ,so wil move on to area which is good 4 both of us.For the time being im applied to afew places in sask.Toronto nd BC are also in cosideration but the living cost is too high over dats really pulling me bak.

oh! i need to purchase the reviewer for CRNE instead... I am also confuse right now if in what place should I settle coz there's no job assurance yet. Its really sad that SRNA increased their application fee and ielts bandscore requirements, maybe they want to reduce the number of applicants.

Hi
I think the rest of the councils are bit better than SRNA in the speed of processing. In SRNA it could take anythng between 11-15 months.
Good luck with ur registration

Probably you're right! But what bother me most that SRNA increases their IELTS requirements, and I am still on the process of preparing my Acad-IELTS.And also how I wish that it will not cause a domino effect with other Canadian CRNE requirements. Thanks for the reply and God bless.
