getting mixed information especially on the definitions of 1st and 2nd gen canadians online.

I am a naturalized citizen and currently weighing my options to have my wife give birth overseas or to come back to canada so our kid will have an easier time with getting canadian citizenship

Your child will be a citizen at birth if born outside of Canada.

Yes your child will get citizenship. Any child born to a Canadian Citizen automatically becomes a citizen. Don't forget to contact the nearest embassy and register your child's birth.

That is not true. Not every child born to Canadian citizen becomes citizen as Canada changes its citizen by descent rules.

Yes, I believe that your child will automatically be Canadian citizen, but if they have a child outside of Canada then that child won't be Canadian.
