Hi guys. I just want to share. I mistakenly put GAPS in my personal history in form 5669E. I sent my whole package with OWP on December 9, 2015 and they received it on December 10, 2015. Now, yesterday, I just realized that I typed gaps in 'Months" in personal history. According to CIC, if you put gaps on time in your personal information they might send you an email or it might delayed your processing time ( they will not return the whole package as you just put gaps on that form) and yes, I called CIC today morning and they said that I can send the form again with additional information and write a letter to the VO since they did not yet opened the package :)) so it means that if you realized that you have mistakes in the forms after you submit the whole package to them, don't hesitate to wait for a month or so to resend all the corrected document, you can send it ASAP in the same address you sent your application :)))

Experience has shown that sometimes (perhaps even more than sometimes) the CIC Call Centre agents are mistaken.

How can CIC match your document with an application that is buried in a pile, when you aren't even in their system yet?
It would be better, IMO, to wait until you at least have your AOR, which will give you your file number. The point is, that they don't even need the new form until they start working on your portion of the application...which will be about 18 months from now. You need to make sure that this new form is matched with your application and will likely have no idea that it has been, so by waiting until you at least have an application number, increases your chances.

I hope it works out for you!

Well...the way that it is suppose to work, is that they issue the OWP as soon as they confirm that you have submitted an Inland application. Even before they check anything in the Inland application.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/work/admissibility/open.asp
(click on `Who can be issued an open work permit' and you'll see what the qualifications are for those applying for spousal sponsorship).

You are eligible if you submitted an INLAND application and have legal status when the OWP is processed.
