I-94 needed?

Does anyone know if I still require an I-94 when I cross to the US by road with a PR status? I am from a visa exempt country.
If so, does it need to be valid for the whole duration of the trip (a week) or does it only need to be valid for the date I enter the US?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, still need one. But I think they are valid 90 days, so you can use it multiple times. Once expired, remove from passport.

Thanks polara69. What if it expires after I enter but before I return to Canada? Will I need to get issued a new one before I enter?

Hmm.. I would say, do not enter the US without a valid I 94. If you see it in your passport expiring while you are in the US, rip it out and get a new one at the border control. Never have your I 94 in your passport expired.. You will get an earful from those "friendly" US border control people.
