3-6-2013 Finally! all the best everyone
I feel so bad for what hapenned, you need to report this visa officer! A interview is to explain yourself she has no reason not accepting the pictures and not letting him explain the answer of the questions she asked. People who say that maybe she was having a bad day!well guess its not your husbands fault if she was having a bad day she cant just be rude to a applicant because she was having a bad day! i deal with patient everyday and not because i am having a bad day that i will talk to them in a rude way or swear at them. these officer are not our god, to decide that easy what we should do or not. Don't give up, order gcms note or wait for the letter of refusal to know what was her damn reason to refuse. Am sure she has no damn idea herself, she mmight find out a crappy reason. I would suggest to appeal as soon as possible! dont just give up! stay strong hun.I cant imagine myself in your shoes right now.Fight for your rights.

And again all those people who used the immigration system to come to canada, *censored word* them ! Because of these people real relationship is suffering!

It is hard to understand what went wrong when there are no details. If you were approved to sponsor your husband in May then something other than genuineness of the relationship is in question, although that doesn't excuse the behaviour of a nasty officer. As somebody else here said, order the notes so you can identify the problem and then decide if you feel it is worth it to appeal. I am sorry as well that this interview made your husband feel like a criminal. It is everybody's worst fear on this forum.

On Oct 17th my husband went for an interview at an IOM office. The interviewer (lady) did not accept pictures, nothing that would proof our relationship, for my plain ticket said it is not valid. She confused him that much that he was crying like a baby. She was telling him through the interview that I should go back and live back home with him if we want to be together. She also told him that she thinks that he just want to come to Canada to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to leave my job, and everything here now to go back to my husband. Probably there is no other way to be together. Our marriage is not fake, we love each other to death.
I have never experienced this much stress in my life, never felt this much pain and humiliation. Thank you CANADA!

The only thing she said at the end to the translator is that "Tell him your wife can appeal"!

Human rights, CANADA!
Destroyed my life.
Your life has not been destroyed. I can assure you, if you appeal your case, it will work out in the end. the problem is, the wait for a hearing in Toronto is a loing wait. I know, as I had to wait 25 monmths for my Appeal date (and won) Life is bittersweet ! Many have gone through this nightmare STAY STRONG AND FOCUSED !

25 months to be with your family? Thats cruel. Do those people have families? Do they know what we go through? I am probably going back to the country I am from, will leave my job and everything. I love my husband more than I love Canada.

Gurabija, I am so sorry this happened.
You are a Canadian citizen, so you can live in another country and still sponsor your husband to come to Canada. To do so, you also then have to prove that you will return to Canada to live when your husband gets his PR visa. So you could move back to live with him and then either reapply or appeal the decision.
In either case, the fact you moved back to live with him will help show the relationship is genuine. One poster on here (Mrs. Turan) was in a similar situation: her Turkish husband had a difficult interview and his PR visa was denied. She then went to live with him in Turkey. She came back to Canada for the appeal, and they won: their staying together for so long convinced the judge that the relationship was genuine.

How horrible, gurabija. :(

Have him try again with different interviewer AND translator because maybe translator may have been part of the problem (maybe?), translation problems can be tricky. I know from knowing Dutch that things don't always translate well from one language to another.

Could also be that the interviewer was having a bad day, possibly, and your husband just happened to catch her in a bad time. Try not to take it too personally. I have a rough time with not taking things personally, but I have to keep remembering that. Keep trying, and keep looking for a way through the maze called life.

I'm just beginning this process, haven't filed yet, but am preparing my paperwork, and already running into walls, and haven't even filed! You have gone so far already! I can only imagine what that would be like to make it so far, and then to have something like that happen. :'( But pick up where you left off, and find another way. Try to find a way to get another different interviewer, and find another translator that can help you.
There is no way to re-do an interview. It's a one time shot. The only other option at this point is to appeal the decision.

I wish you the best of luck, gurabija. This isn't the end!
