Hi Experts,,

My wife is an international student on study permit. I am on a temporary work permit. I finally got a job offer from a company in toronto. The job title is matching the category B but it is not a LIMA job offer. I also have a master degree (two years program) graduated in 2010

1- Does the job offer has to be through LIMA in order to qualify for Canadian Experience Category?
2- If I work for one year with this company, can I qualify for Canadian Experience?
3- I need to extend my wife's study permit 60 days before expiry. If her study permit is extended, will I be entitled to extend my work permit too?
4- Does my master degree + one year of working count as canadian experience? Notice graduation date is 12-2010.

No. But you will not qualify for the bonus points for "offer of employment" without an LMIA (that would be for after you complete one year, tho).

Based on this information, most likely yes.

Yes.

Your masters degree counts as a masters degree. Your work experience will count as one year after you complete one year, but... not clear if you mean something different?

No. But you will not qualify for the bonus points for "offer of employment" without an LMIA (that would be for after you complete one year, tho).
[AK] So you mean, if the offer was a LMIA, that would've given me bonus points. In my case I will only lose bonus points but still the job counts as a Canadian Experience. Right?

Your masters degree counts as a masters degree. Your work experience will count as one year after you complete one year, but... not clear if you mean something different?
[AK] What I meant was, based on my understanding, Canadian experience requires 2 years of working in a skilled job. If one had previously studied in Canada, then that counts as one year (correct me if I was wrong). I graduated from Canada in 2010, will this be counted as a one year experience of is it too old to be counted?

No. Your previous studies in Canada has nothing to do with your work experience. They count individually. You can earn points for studying in Canada when you apply for CEC. You only need to have 1 year of full-time working experience in Canada to qualify for CEC after your graduation (minimum of 30 hours per week for at least 52 weeks). Studying in Canada DOES NOT give you one year of working experience.

No. Your previous studies in Canada has nothing to do with your work experience. They count individually. You can earn points for studying in Canada when you apply for CEC. You only need to have 1 year of full-time working experience in Canada to qualify for CEC after your graduation (minimum of 30 hours per week for at least 52 weeks). Studying in Canada DOES NOT give you one year of working experience.
