Husband is on student visa, wife is on OWP

A friend of mine (Husband) is here in Canada as a student, with his wife and 2 kids. His wife said she’ll be hired permanently by a company. In her status now as an accompanying spouse open working permit can she be sponsored by a company and can become a principal candidate for PR later on while for now her husband is the principal (student visa)?
