We are applying Outland. My husband's family emigrated to Canada in 1990 when he was 8. There is part of the sponsorship evaluation that asks for the address of anywhere he lived other than Canada but neither he nor his mother remember the address of their old house in their own country. Is it absolutely necessary or could I leave it blank? Would appreciate any input!

In looking at my application in order to answer your question more correctly I see that it says list all addresses you lived at since your 18th birthday or the last 10 years whichever is the most recent. Since you said your husband has been in Canada since 1990 that is more than 10 years and he is over 18 so he just needs to go back 10 years from now and list those addresses. No need to worry about his addresses in his former country. Hope that helps. :)

1. Actually it would be back to the age of 18 (CIC doesn't word that very well) and that is for the person being sponsored, not the sponsor.
2. The sponsor should be completing the questionnaire, and if s/he doesn't know the address where he lived overseas, just put down the city and country.

PMM if it is indeed since a person turned 18 then mine is filled out wrong and we used a consultant who has been in the business for nearly 20 years only doing PR sponsorship. I did go back about 15 years but only because the places I last lived in only went back 8 years until the one that went back 15 years. The question on the app specifically says places lived since you were 18 OR 10 years which ever is more recent. That is why I gave Alicia13 the information I gave her. If it is wrong then I imagine many people are filling forms out wrong and that would explain why people get asked for more information. And yes it is for the person being sponsored.

what form are you filling out? It should be since age 18....and for the person being sponsored

for the prinicle applicant, it asks for addresses since the age of 18 or the last 10 years, i only supplied the last 10 years of addresses, and have not had any issue.

Sorry, I should have been more specific, I'm referring to Q. 8 on IMM 5540, he had resided in his home country until his family emigrated but he doesn't know that address.
Sorry for the confusion

i don't think the address is significant. if he can't remember, at least just but the town and country. put "unknown" in the address space.
