Huge mistake - Visitor visa applied while still having a valid visa for next 6 years

Hi, I have peculiar situation, as my husband and kids' visa was about to expire we applied for WP/visa extension for all. Mine WP and visitor visa too got approved along with others, but while mailing passport for stamping I noticed I had my visa valid until Aug 2030 which is my passport expiry date ( kids and husband had visa only until 2024). Now I am in dilemma if I should send my passport or just a letter explaining the situation.
Any expert advice would be appreciated.

Not a issue at all. Just send the passport, they will give you another visa with new number. The older one will be not valid and you will use the new one..

I have received the passport with the visa stamped. The new expiry date is of 2027 ( same as my OWP expiry).
The earlier visa had expiry pf 2030 ( expiry of my passport) , effectively, I have lost 3 years of visa.

Oh, that usually dont happen, a TRV is always granted for passport validity. You can call IRCC to check. Also ask IRCC if the previous un-expired visa is still usable? Anyway not a issue, you can try to apply again before your OWP expiry.
