Hi everyone,
I am new to these boards, but have used the info in them on a few occassions now, so thanks
I successfully applied for a Labour Market Opinion 10 months ago, under NOC 5124. At October 22, 2011, the median salary for the Burnaby/Vancouver region of BC was circa $18.00. I then went through the work permit process and everything was perfect. I have had to apply for another labour market opinion as my previous one is due to expire, and the median wage for the same exact job has (in the last 10 months) gone up to $29.00. The only information available on the website is displayed for the Cariboo Region, which is then taken as the numbers for the whole of BC. On this basis, my labour market opinion has been denied (this afternoon) for working in Vancouver.
I can see from the website the NOC 5124 information was updated on 8/2/2012 and my concern is that my labour market opinion has been denied on a number that is not relevant to my location. I also am not sure how the median wage for any job in the current economic climate increases by $11.00 in one year.
I currenly have a PNP application pending (I submitted both because I didn't want to get stuck without a valid way of working) with my spouse (under my job) and I am now worried that will be denied on the same basis as the LMO.
I have an email into Working in Canada, and we are expecting to have a response to our PNP application here in the coming weeks. If there are any ideas on what we can do in the interim, it would be greatly appreciated!
