Hello All,

My consultant is stating, if i enroll for the Dual degree MBA program for VIU. The program is for 14 months and additional 4 months internship. I will be eligible for 3 years of PGWP. However, the CIC websites states, PGWP is offered no longer than the course duration. I am currently employeed as Business Analyst with Barclays for close to years and have worked with Moddy's indian subsidiary close to a year. I looking for MBA or PGDM option in Canada, which can offer me 3 years of PGWP and then further can apply for PR. Kindly help me with your valuable advice. However, I only have 15 years of educations, thereafter don't have many options.

Hi,

Based on responses here, it really depends on the officer who is processing your case. You could probably get a 3 year PGWP but there is no way to guarantee this outcome. I would recommend getting in touch with other international students who have completed the same program or the international office at VIU to see what has happened in the past. They likely will be able to give you better information.

Hi samroc,

Thank you for your response on the query. I want to know is it a 2 year program as it has 4 semesters and a 14 month program or is it only 14 months program in total. If, the program is for 2 years than I may get 3 year PGWP, however if the duration is less than that then the PGWP will be less. I understand PGWP depends on the VO.

I just went to the FAQ section of the program you are talking about at VIU:

https://www2.viu.ca/mba/faq_new.asp

It says: Once you complete your degree you will be eligible to work in Canada for 14 months to three years.

Therefore, there is a chance your permit might be for 14 months. However, if you can get a letter from your school saying you completed a 2 year program, that could help your chances. Also, regulations might change now that there is a new government so I think it is best to go to a program that will add value regardless of the PGWP length.

Hi Samroc,

Thankyou taking out your valuable time and searching this information for me. I hope the minimum PGWP is 14 months and maximum is 3 years which is correctly stated by my consultant. However, as per your advice, I have only 15 years of education and there are not many options for me, for a degree program. Either, I go for PGDM in college, which is in deed the easiest way to enter the country. A degree program is world wide recognised rather holding a diploma. I have read many posts on this forum and realised, the most what plays in canada is your luck rather than anything else.

Whether it is your VISA application, PGWP or PR !!!

Hi Samroc,

I have a query here is PNP applicable for students who have completed their MBA from canada.

I have hear about saskatchewan PNP program for graudates or student from canada.

Is it possible to apply for PNP in any province in canada after PGWP is about to expire ?
Does PNP really helps in getting PR ?
How realistic is it to get visa extenstion after your PGWP has expired and you have a job ?

Thank you in advace for all the information you have shared from our experience :) :)
